Barroluco Argentine Comfort Food held it’s ribbon cutting and grand opening on Friday April 26 2019.

Restaurant owner, Omar D’Angelo, welcomed family, friends, community leaders and election officials into his establishment located in Downtown Columbus’ “Pearl Alley” (47 N. Pearl Street).


D’Angelo and his family moved to the United States 18 years ago with the purpose of continuing his family’s tradition of baking and cooking traditional Argentinian food.  D’Angelo experienced great success with a food truck and has expanded his business to a sit-down and take-out restaurant.


At the ribbon cutting Franklin County Commissioner, John O’Grady, said “Columbus has the taste of Argentinian food now”. O’Grady described the partnership Franklin County Commissioners has established with Economic Community Development Institute (ECDI) to help persons like D’Angelo to get into the food business and to help finance them.”


Other speakers included; Michael Bowers of the Ohio Small Business Develop Center expressed excitement in having been able to go along D’Angelo’s journey from the very beginning.
